Wind power is one of the fastest growing sources of electricity generation in the world. It is efficient, emissions-free and infinitely renewable. Investment in wind power is a key component of Suncor's climate change action plan.
Wind power is also one of the most economically recognized forms of renewable energy. Suncor is a Canadian pioneer in wind energy with six power developments in operation and other projects in the planning stages.
The wind projects in which we invest, would avoid approximately 500,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide each year, equivalent to the annual tailpipe emissions of more than 113,000 cars.
